For the anime ask game! May I ask 1, 3 and 12? ^^

First anime you ever watched?

It depends on how you want to count. The first anime I watched as a little girl was Pokémon. At least it's the first one I remember being really obsessed with. My grandparents had a TV pack with many channels, including the one that had anime. No matter what I was doing, if I heard the Pokémon theme song playing on the TV, I would drop everything I was holding and go to the TV as fast as I could. Now, I also remember enjoying MewMew Power (or Tokyo MewMew, as is the Japanese title) a lot, and there was also Dragon Ball and Naruto on the channel, but those two, I didn't enjoy quite as much.

After learning what anime was, my first was Vampire Knight. My friend had watched it and we had an idea that I should base a fanfiction on the story, so that was why I watched it. I liked the first season, but then the story turned weird and I've heard that the manga turned weirder. It's not one I'll go back to unless I have a good reason, but it is special to me.

3. Favorite anime character?

That's hard! I mean, there are so many characters that I love. My first favorite character was Kaoru Hitachiin from Ouran High School Host Club, because I like how he is different from Hikaru and the two sides he shows. Then I have a soft spot for Yui from Angel Beats because I relate to her very deeply, all her feelings and her struggles, and just thinking about her moves me. I like Ron Kamonohashi because he is just fun to watch.

I also could say that I like Haruka Nanase from Free! because I do relate to him in some ways. However, these days, I think I would have to say Reki Kyan from Sk8 The Infinity. When he had some emotional struggles in the anime, I had some struggles that were quite similar, and it made me feel heard and understood, and helped me process my thoughts and feelings, and so Reki's journey hit me hard too. To borrow the word of a friend, I would call him my squish. But there are many reasons to like a character. Ask me in a year or two, and Reki might not be my answer anymore. It always changes.

12. Anime that should get more attention from others?

Another good question. Other than fanfictions, I don't really check what anime are talked about and what are not talked about at all. If you ask the BL loving girl inside me, she would claim that all BL anime deserve more attention. I'm not sure I agree with that statement. There is good BL like Sasaki and Miyano, Given or Banana Fish, and then there is questionable BL that I would rather not even mention.

I think, if I had to name an anime that I wish got more attention and was still talked about today, it would have to be Bakuman. I loved the anime when I watched it and while it does some things different from the manga, I'm enclined to argue that those minor details actually make the anime better, with the male duo more likable and the love interests getting more screen time, so they feel more like their own people.

Manga Authors/Artists...

I watched a really great anime about a year ago called Bakuman. It was a really interesting anime, 3 seasons, about two guys that formed a partnership to create a manga. It was slow at times, but it was fascinating. And several people commented that it was very true to life, of how things go in the Manga business.

  ...... And because of working hard and deadlines, one of the main guys got some health problems at a young age. He had to be careful about overdoing it. ....So when you hear of a Manga being delayed or going on Hiatus (Like My Hero Academia is currently) remember there’s a human being working on it, and their health should come first.

<some spoilers for this season and death note>

The last season of Bakuman! This show was a really enjoyable ride and didn’t feel like it was actually 75 episodes long (which I just now realised and holy fuck. It really doesn’t feel like it.)

Now, the first arc of season 03 was probably the most questionable in the whole series. They brought in a quite despisable character who shifted the tone of the show to a direction I wasn’t the biggest fan of. Then when that arc ends, that character just fucking...disappears. Addditionally, they also bring back an older, also quite disliked character, who doesn’t do much for the rest of the season. So I was a bit worried initially. 

However, the second half was SO good I literally forgot that this season had a first arc in the first place. I was really wrecking my brain “I remember that there was something I didn’t like here but what was it?” until I remembered that forgettable character. But as I said, the way season 3 wraps up the whole story makes it all worth it. 

Mashiro and Takagi’s journey was so well written and paced, I can only applaud our real life Takagi. The permise itself was something I thought would be impossible to pull off and make interesting, expecially with such a long runtime but they did it! Every time you would think that there’s isn’t more to achieve, a new character, twist or arc is introduced and it keeps you hooked yet again. 

<SPOILER> The final manga we see Ashirogi Mutou create is Reversi, which very closely resembles Death Note, the (real life) duo’s first work. The ending of it especially left a lot to think about. There was a lot of back and forth, where they were supposed to lengthen the manga to become a flagship series for Shounen Jack, however after a lot of work, they got permission to finish Reversi at the hight of its popularity with the 2 main characters dying in a big showdown. From this, it’s very possible that this was the duo’s plan for Death Note as well, to wrap it up where L died in the show but they weren’t allowed to do that, which led to Near and Mello. I’m really curious what their original plans for the “true” ending of DN were. <SPOILER>

The lead up to our last goal, Mashiro and Azuki’s promise made in the first episode, was also quite exciting although a bit predictable. Nevertheless, even I felt little butterflies during the last episode even though romance usually doesn’t phase me at all. A very well done series, would recommend (if you like this kinda stuff). [9/10] (x)

Hideto Takarai 寶井 秀人 Takarai Hideto, born January 29, 1969 in Wakayama, Japan),known exclusively by his stage name Hyde, is a Japanese musician, singer, songwriter, producer, and actor. He is best known as the lead vocalist for the rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel, as well as for Vamps.

He joined L'Arc-en-Ciel in 1991. In addition to being the lead singer and main lyricist of L'Arc-en-Ciel, Hyde has released 4 solo albums and 8 singles. In 2008 he formed Vamps with K.A.Z, and started his own independent record label called Vamprose.

takt op.Destiny Anime Reveals New Visual and Cast Details

  MAPPA and MADHOUSE are combining powers to bring multimedia project takt op.Destiny to the small screen in a TV anime that kicks off in Japan on October 5. Before we watch legendary pieces of music come to life, a new key visual is here along with a bunch of character introductions.

    There's also some new info on theme songs. The opening, "takt," comes from ryo (supercell) feat. mafumafu x gaku. The ending, "SYMPHONIA," will be performed by Mika Nakashima, who previously sang the opening for DARLING in the FRANXX, among other things.

  In a world where music has almost been forgotten, takt op.Destiny tells the captivating story of several young women called "Musicart" who present the scores of legendary pieces of music in physical form. Together they fight to give the world back the joy and passion that music represents.

    Yuki Ito will direct the anime (storyboards on Attack on Titan Final Season; episodes 10, 15, 22 director on Demon Slayer) based on the original concept from DeNA and Sakura Wars video game creator Oji Hiroi. Kiyoko Yoshimura (The God of High School) will be providing the series composition, with Reiko Nagasawa (sub-character designer on Overlord Season 3) drawing the character design based on LAM's original characters. Yoshihiro Ike (Dororo) will be doing the music. The animation will be co-produced at MAPPA and MADHOUSE.

Well, my fav anime is currently haikyuu, but I'm currently watching hunter x hunter, and I do know some of the anime you like! Kamisama I know it because someone recommended it to me, but they said it was similar to inuyasha (I really loved inuyasha, such a magical anime)

Obviously I know naruto, who doesn't? But I'm stuck at season 7 episode 10, but... The first part of naruto, when he is a child :3

I have heard of quite a few of these and seen most of the manga come thru my register at work lol. I can second the Check Please rec (it’s also a webcomic!) and I’ve been reading the newer Books of Magic in the past year or so ironically enough and thought it was fun, was considering fishing some of the 90s out of the dollar bin at a local comic shop but the condition wasn’t good. Calvin and Hobbes is a CLASSIC and I’ve been meaning to get around to Kingsmen cause I enjoyed the movies. DC Bombshells is a GIFT. A Gift. And I adore the Earth One Teen Titans, kinda wished they’d continued it. Kingdom Come is another classic and something I was leant in high school, I was very lucky in high school lol. Lumberjanes is adorable as well! I know you said you weren’t looking to start new stuff but Fence is a good one and has Check Please vibes. The Umbrella Academy is also great when it comes to just weird superhero flavored nonsense. And Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman is a classic for a very good reason.

Anime Rec: Bakuman

I adore Bakuman. It’s by the creators of Death Note, but has more of a Haikyuu feel as the two boys try their best to become mangaka and write manga for Shounen Jump. There is such a strong cast of characters and you fall in love with each of their rivals (for the most part--there are some still that are written for you to hate) as they all support each other toward their dreams. The first episode is a bit dull and melodramatic imo, but it quickly improves. I’ve easily rewatched this show at least seven times and it’s worth every rewatch and never fails to put me in a good mood. It also has tons of really interesting info on how the manga industry works and the thought processes that go into creating manga, if you’re interested in that! The representation of women really sucks at the start, I won’t lie, but they get better at it. And Kaya is at least wonderful.

I watch anime in general but I am quite new at reading manga and watching anime. To be honest, Naruto isn’t even my favourite manga/anime (though I clearly love it and is one I really enjoy talking about).
